Who Should Apply:    Land Trusts on behalf of private owners of land in the LI Sound Watershed (LISW) (see map below). Landowners should be open to conserving their land with an easement and managing their woods for rare bird species like Wood Thrush. 

Why Should I Apply:    Up to $200,000 for acquisition capital per project plus funds to cover transaction costs (title search, appraisal, survey, etc.).

When is the Pre-Application Due:    Hard copy pre-screening applications (simple and straightforward) to the 2016 Grant Round for the LISW- RCP Program's Healthy Forest Reserve Program are due Monday, Aug.1, 2016 (mailed to Highstead Foundation, PO Box 1097, Redding Center, CT, 06875).

  • Please note: There is an error in the HFRP Guide (on www.lisw-rcpp.com/forests.html): Applicants do NOT need to submit a Pre-Screening Ranking Worksheet as part of their application. The worksheet is intended just to show how in the pre-screening process parcel(s) will be scored and ranked using geographic information systems (GIS) and other sources. The error will be corrected as soon as possible.
