The ALPINE (Academics for Land Protection in New England) Summer Institute is a program for students and young professionals interested in learning about large landscape conservation in New England and exploring careers in land conservation. The Summer Institute takes place over two weekends: June 7-9 at the Harvard Forest and July 19-21 at the Schoodic Institute in Maine. Participants will visit several exemplary conservation success stories in Central Massachusetts and on Maine’s Schoodic Peninsula. Participants will have the opportunity to hear from, meet and interact with leaders and educators in the conservation arena. Presenters have come from the Maine Coast Heritage Trust, the North Quabbin Regional Landscape Partnership, the Highstead Foundation, and the Harvard Forest. The cost for the program is free. Participants must have an internship or position that involves some aspect of land conservation in New England to participate. The application for the program is here. The deadline to apply is May 15th. Please contact Marianne Jorgensen, firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.
