I am pleased to be able to share with you news that registration for the 2019 RCP Network Gathering is officially open!
This year marks the 10th Anniversary of the Gathering and the first time we are squarely addressing climate change--our theme is Natural Climate Solutions for All, and we'll have 24 workshops (six more than last year) presented by over 70 faculty in eight thematic tracks covering topics such as climate resilience, regional land use issues, conservation finance, collaborative land protection, and engaging new partners and sectors.
This year's RCP Network Gathering Keynote Speaker is Lynn Scarlett. Former Deputy Secretary and Chief Operating Officer of the U.S. Department of the Interior, Lynn Scarlett is now global Vice President of Policy at The Nature Conservancy and leads the Conservancy’s global climate strategy. Learn more about Lynn and the event here.
We are also introducing several opportunities for graduate and undergraduate students to learn more about real-world conservation in the Northeast, build their professional networks, and contribute their ideas to the conference, including a poster session and student mentorship program. The poster session is open to students, faculty, and RCPs. Learn more here. Students, RCPs, faculty, and conservation professionals interested in the Student Mentorship Program can learn more here.
The Regional Conservation Partnership Network Gathering is free of charge (breakfast and lunch included) and will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 - 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Campus Center of the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, MA. We plan to offer continuing education credits for members of the Society of American Foresters and the American Institute of Certified Planners. Please spread the word about this event to colleagues and conservation practitioners. The registration deadline is Wednesday, November 6.
