The US Forest Service is now requesting applications for the Fiscal Year 2020 Landscape Scale Restoration (LSR) Grant Program. The purpose of this competitive grant program is to encourage collaborative, science-based restoration of priority forest landscapes, leverage public and private resources, and support priorities identified in State Forest Action Plans (Connecticut’s Forest Action Plan). 

Timeline:  The FY 2020 LSR Guidance and Project Narrative Form and other agency-specific forms and resources are available on the LSR website. The timeline is below.

  1. Draft Proposals to State Foresters: State forestry partners and collaborators must submit an initial draft of their Grants.gov application to the State Forester (please send to peracchio@ct.gov) by September 13, 2019
  2. Final Proposals to USDA Forest Service – Eastern Region: Completed applications, including State Forester Sponsor letters, must be submitted to the Eastern Region-State and Private Forestry through Grants.gov by 6 p.m. Eastern October 11, 2019(grant opportunity number USDA-FS-2020-LSR).
