This working group space has been set up to make it easier for RCP members working within the LI Sound Watershed to learn about, discuss, and provide feedback on the pre-screening process and implementation of the Healthy Forest Reserve Program (HFRP). This program is being administered by the LI Sound Watershed Regional Conservation Partnership Program (LISW-RCPP) Forest Land Protection Technical Committee (Technical Committee) and the NRCS.
The Technical Committee works in coordination with the Steering Committee of the LISW-RCPP. The Technical Committee has representation from the forestry agency in each state of New England and New York as well as the US EPA, USFWS, USFS, and NRCS. We also have Harvard Forest's Brian Hall and the North Atlantic Landscape Conservation Cooperative's Scott Schwenk, and the LISW-RCPP's Coordinator, Judy Preston, providing assistance. Highstead is on the Steering Committee for the LISW-RCPP and chairs the Forest Land Protection Technical Committee. LISW-RCPP may be ongoing, but the funds are for five years.
Please email Highstead Senior Conservationist and chair of the LISW-RCPP-FLPTC, Bill Labich, if you wish to invite others to this working group (firstname.lastname@example.org)
